HUMANMEDITEK builds overseas sales network

One domestic venture company dared to compete with Johnson & Johnson which dominates world plasma sterilizer market. It is HUMANMEDITEK that recently introduced plasma sterilizer ‘HMTS’ and built sales network in 25 countries in the world.
This company acquired CE certification from SGS certification institute for the first time in Korea. Especially, it attracts more attention because it developed HMTS for the second time in the world.
“We wanted to sell high value added products with technology.”
This is why CEO of HUMANMEDITEK, Jung-Suek Ko, who had run textile company since 1975, had interests on the medical instruments in 1998.
While CEO Mr. Ko was looking niche market to find new business item, he just found medical instrument market. Among those the trend of the sterilizer market was rapidly changed. He thought the plasma sterilizer was replacing high temperature high pressure and EtO gas sterilizer. The plasma sterilizer enlarges sterilizing power and save costs. Particularly, it shortens sterilizing time to 65 minutes. And it is an environment-friendly product with no air pollution. Recently the demand for the product is significantly increasing. Last year, the volume of world market for the medical sterilizer was 1,800 billion dollars.
“We will compete with worldwide companies in overseas market and finally achieve our goal to fill 95% of total sales revenue by export.”
First of all, Mr. Ko is aiming at Europe, Middle East and Asia as main targets. To do so, he contracted with ‘Bellymed’ of Swiss, ‘Macosmepa’ of Italy and ‘Redwin’ in the Middle East for dealership. He is planning 20 billion won for the sales revenue of 2004, and is expecting 72 billion won by 2006 to acquire 40% of market share in the world.
Also he is trying to develop technology applying plasma to semiconductor, pharmacy and beverages.
